Questions and Answers

At Intentional Mind and Wellness Hypnosis, we ensure every client fully understands the services we offer. Below are answers to questions you might want answers for.

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation. It allows you to turn your attention inward, become more aware of subconscious patterns and respond more openly to positive suggestions that support your goals.

Most people describe hypnosis as calming and deeply relaxing—similar to becoming absorbed in a book, a film or your own thoughts. You remain aware of what is happening and can hear and respond to Dr Mary throughout the session.

No regulated immigration adviser can legally guarantee approval, as every decision is made by the Home Office based on your individual circumstances and the requirement of Immigration rules. However, we can assess if your case has a reasonable prospect of success during your initial consultation and advise you accordingly. Where appropriate, we offer a No Win No Fee option for certain applications. We hold fees until submission and will discuss refund terms transparently if we agree to this arrangement

No. Although you may feel deeply relaxed, hypnosis is not sleep. You will usually remain aware of your surroundings and remember what happened during the session.

No. Hypnosis is not mind control. You remain in control of your choices and cannot be forced to say or do anything that conflicts with your values or makes you uncomfortable. Dr Mary acts as a guide, and you may end the session at any time.

Most people can experience hypnosis when they are willing, comfortable and able to follow instructions. However, everyone responds differently, and some people enter a focused state more easily than others.

Your first session begins with a conversation about your concerns, goals and expectations. Dr Mary will explain the process, answer your questions and develop an approach tailored to your needs before guiding you into hypnosis.

Every client is different, so the methods used will depend on your needs and goals. Dr Mary may combine hypnosis with subconscious reprogramming, neuro-linguistic programming, core transformation and other integrative mind-body techniques to create a personalised experience.

The number of sessions varies according to your goals, the nature of the concern and how you respond to hypnosis. Some clients notice positive changes quickly, while others benefit from several sessions. Dr Mary will discuss a suitable plan with you following your consultation.

Hypnosis may support people seeking help with stress, anxiety, fears, phobias, confidence, self-esteem, unwanted habits, smoking or vaping cessation, weight management, pain management and personal development. Your consultation will help determine whether the service is suitable for your needs.

Hypnosis is generally considered safe when conducted by a properly trained practitioner. However, it may not be appropriate for everyone. Please tell Dr Mary about any relevant medical, neurological or mental-health conditions before beginning a programme.

No. Hypnosis is a complementary service and should not replace care from your doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist or another licensed healthcare professional. Do not discontinue prescribed medication or treatment without first consulting the professional responsible for your care.

Hypnosis is not a reliable method of proving that a memory is completely accurate. Imagination, expectations and suggestion can influence recollection. Any work involving memories will therefore be approached carefully and should not be treated as confirmation that an event occurred exactly as remembered.

Yes. Sessions may be available remotely by secure video call, allowing you to participate from a quiet and comfortable location. You will need a reliable internet connection, a private space and a device positioned so that Dr Mary can see and hear you clearly.

Wear comfortable clothing and choose a time when you are unlikely to be interrupted. Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs before your appointment, silence notifications and approach the session with an open mind. There is no pressure to “perform” or make hypnosis happen. Our administrative team will also talk you through some dos and don’ts before your session.

No ethical practitioner can guarantee a particular result. Hypnosis is a collaborative process, and outcomes vary between individuals. Your willingness to participate, practise recommended techniques and make changes outside the sessions can influence your progress.

Your privacy is important. Information shared during consultations and sessions will be treated respectfully and confidentially, subject to any legal, ethical or safety-related limits explained before your programme begins.

Intentional Mind services are generally offered on a self-pay basis. Insurance coverage for hypnosis varies between providers and plans, so you should contact your insurer directly to confirm whether reimbursement is available. Please contact Intentional Mind for current fees and payment information.

A consultation gives you an opportunity to discuss your concerns, ask questions and learn how hypnosis may support your goals. There is no pressure to proceed until you feel informed and comfortable with the process.
